Our room...
The view from our balcony.... towards the east....
and to the west...

We ate alot... =)
Surprise couple's massage. The smell of this place was so inviting. A fresh mixture of lemongrass and all types of citrus-y smells...Jason surprised me with a one-hour massage... as good as it was, oh my goodness, the pain of having my knots worked on...ouch! The lady told me I was tense...well, I did just get married!!! =)
Later on in the night, Jason surprised me yet again with dinner on the beach... this picture isn't of us, its used to illustrate that yes, we did that....
Getting ready...
The view with our dinner...
The shrimp was tasty, oh so finger-licking-good tasty.
What we would come back to at night... isn't that sweet?
One of the problems with "open-air" everything... birds were everywhere, and waiting/lurking in the shadows until people left so they could swoop down and eat whatever scraps were left. Sadly to say you had to watch out for the birdie poopies!
Pool bar...
Just relaxin'...
You can definitely see Jason's irishness in the picture... my favorite lobster boy.
They filmed "Pirates of the Caribbean" here!!!
At my bridal shower, my bridesmaids gave Jason and I one of the best gifts we received... ZIP LINING!!
The hairnets were necessary, not by choice. But we still looked smokin'.
The workers were very, very fast! Before you even knew it, you were already walking to your next zipping post!
If you're afraid of heights... don't do this!
It was unbelievably cool to do this.
Not only when we went ziplining did Jason sweat like this... it was the entire week. He was in a perpetual state of sweat. But at least here in the rain forest there weren't any mosquitoes!!!
He's just uncomfortable from sweating... can you say swamp ____?
The other cool excursion we did was a tour by sea by the Party boat.
Soufriere = "Sulfur in the Air" in other words, it reeks of rotten eggs here.
St Lucia is known for its mountainous terrain... it also claims to have the world's only drive-through volcano (the main reason we decided on going) ... Mostly, it was stinky steam vents (rotten eggs anyone???), boiling mud pots, warm spring waters, and a town that basically sits atop a caldera (think Yellowstone). Here is a local taking advantage of those warm spring waters.
The smell was nothing like the spa smell...
Jason was in a hurry to get back to the AC.
Just in case you didn't know...
St Lucia's drainage system... they have these along the roads... can you imagine????!!!
Next up....
My weakness.... cocoa plant.
Superman 2 and "Romancing the Stone" were both filmed here... the waterfall looks all different colors due to the mineral deposits... this is the same water that flows down from the boiling mudpots about a mile and a half away, but the waters are cooled by this point...
On this tour they took us to a gorgeous restaurant with yummy food. (we love plantains!) The restaurant was brightly colored, had about 4 floors, and a pool in the middle!!!
St Lucia has the famous pitons as it's landmark. The Grand et Petite Pitons. The Grand is actually the short fatter one while the Petite Piton is the tall, skinnier one...
Coming back from the town of Soufriere... we passed by our resort... Apparently, one of the tourists took it upon her drunken self that she wanted to swim to the resort instead of taking the 15 minute ride back to it... (the party boat was a party boat. They had an open bar and served continous drinks from the moment we got onboard (9am) to the time we finally docked (4pm)).
The captian selling his music cd compilation.
Hmmm...
I guess she must not have read the sign. Some guys tried to help her back on the boat but she didn't want that!!! So she bit them, and spit on a girl... all the while her husband kept yelling "let her go! she's crrrraazzeeee" And no, they weren't less than 40 yrs old....
I was so happy to have been able to get a pic of this little guy here... I saw him the first day but wasn't able to get a picture... this one happened on the last night we were there... thanks little guy!!!
Brain coral...
The sunset on our last night in St Lucia. It was a bittersweet goodbye. If anyone wonders where they should go for their honeymoon/vacation/getaway, I'd recommend St Lucia, ANY Sandals resort. You don't have to worry about anything! (Except for the road trips if you're like me).....
Finally, a video clip of ziplining. =) Since we have to use both hands when we do that, the camera itself was hanging on me. When I got off, I was able to hold it to record Jason's zipping. And yes, that is the sound of my whooping.
***Wedding post to come VERY SOON!!!***
